APEX is the administrative unit within the University of Kansas that houses the following highly successful academic support programs.

SES - TRIO Supportive Educational Services

This fully comprehensive academic support program works with first-generation, limited-income students, and students with disabilities to enable them to be retained and to graduate. Professional mentoring, academic advising, tutoring, and cultural events are some of the opportunities open to SES students. This program has a thirty-year history of success.

GEAR UP - Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

The GEAR UP program is a federally funded program (U.S.D.E) designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.
